On Saturday, April 10, 2027, the EPIC Trail returns to Baraque de Fraiture for its second edition.
Starting from one of the highest points in Belgium, six routes will allow you to discover the forests, valleys, and high plateaus surrounding this iconic location in the Ardennes.

A START AT AN ALTITUDE OF 652 METERS
Baraque de Fraiture is not just a starting point.
At 652 meters above sea level, it overlooks a terrain where relief, wind, and weather can quickly change the face of the trails. It is here, at the top of the ski slope, that each EPIC Trail route will begin.
One starting point, six distances, and as many ways to explore the Ardennes.
THE ARDENNES AS IT IS
Around Baraque de Fraiture, the routes alternate between forest paths, faster tracks, valleys, and high plateaus.
The terrain remains generally accessible, but the mileage, elevation gain, and weather conditions will make the difference. In wet weather, some sections can quickly become muddy and slippery.
Here, you will need to know how to run, manage your effort, and adapt to the terrain.

EPIC 10
11.4 km · 305 m D+
The event's new format, scheduled for the end of the day. An accessible distance to discover trail running, share a first start at Baraque de Fraiture, or end the day on the trails.
EPIC 20
19.15 km · 554 m D+
A short but substantial route, between forest paths and Ardennes hills. A format suited for regular runners who want to discover the EPIC Trail over an accessible distance.
EPIC 35
35 km · 967 m D+
A balanced distance that already requires good effort management. Fast sections allow you to keep up the pace, while the climbs and trail conditions will gradually weigh on your legs.
EPIC 50
47 km · 1,276 m D+
A true long trail around Baraque de Fraiture. A distance designed for those looking to push their limits and spend several hours in the heart of the Ardennes trails.
EPIC 75
76 km · 2,089 m D+
An endurance format that requires consistency, good nutrition management, and the ability to stay strong as the kilometers add up.
EPIC 100
99 km · 2,798 m D+
The flagship distance of the event. Nearly 100 kilometers through forests, valleys, and high plateaus, with a single priority: saving enough energy to make it back to Baraque de Fraiture.
A FIRST MARK LEFT IN 2026
Nearly 1,000 trail runners took part in the first edition of the EPIC Trail.
They discovered varied terrain, open landscapes, long forest stretches, and a finish that has become one of the event's signatures: a final climb to the top of the ski slope, before heading down to the finish line.
In 2027, the EPIC Trail returns with six distances and a new 10-kilometer format.
AN EVENT ROOTED AT BARAQUE DE FRAITURE
The EPIC Trail aims to establish long-term roots at Baraque de Fraiture and become an event fully associated with this location.
The goal is simple: offer several formats around a shared identity, showcase the region's trails, and build an event capable of bringing together ultra-runners as well as those taking on their very first trail run.
